Our Story.
We are fourth generation farmers at Hall Farm, Great Canfield and the family has grown potatoes for more than 50 years. We grow a few varieties of potatoes but it's the King Edwards that are the best to make the vodka. We have good Essex clay soils which make for a quality crop of potatoes. We use the misshaped ones for the vodka which don't make the grade for market but still taste just as good. We are lucky enough to have an old Motte and Bailey fort on the farm which is where the name of our vodka originated from. It’s believed to be Norman from the late 11th century and although now is just a grassy mount is a fantastic nod to the history of the area and has now been classified as a scheduled monument.
